The two triangles ABC and CDE are similar because they have all the three angles equal. Then, the fact that AC is half CE means that all the corresponding lengths in triangle ABC are half those of triangle CDE. Then, given DF, the height of CDE, equal to 4, the height of triangle ABC must be 2.
Thus, its area is computed as (6*2)/2 = 6. Quantity B is greater.

How do I know they are similar triangle?
Because two line are intercept, and the third line is parallel?
