This is one tricky question but can be answered easily when you read super carefully.
Select the sentence that provides support for an answer to a question in the passage.
The first step is to identify the question asked in the passage. The question is this: But if it was so commonplace, why was it(earthenware) listed more often for wealthy households?
When you read the passage, it is explained that earthenware was not expensive so it may have gone unlisted. But for wealthy households, it was listed much more often.
Now, why?
The reason is given in the last sentence of the passage. It says that: A few bowls could easily be absorbed into another category, but a roomful of earthenware could not.
So for wealthy households, the earthenware was in more quantity and that's why there are listed more often. If it was in less number, then it could be considered in other categories but here the quantity was roomful.
