Let x = the length of an edge of the cube.
The surface area of the cube is \(6x^2\).
After increasing by a factor of 2, the new length of each edge is 2x.
The surface area of the new cube is \(6(2x)^2 = 6 * 4x^2 = 24x^2\).
\(24x^2 / 6x^2 = 4\)
The surface area of the cube is \(6x^2\).
After increasing by a factor of 2, the new length of each edge is 2x.
The surface area of the new cube is \(6(2x)^2 = 6 * 4x^2 = 24x^2\).
\(24x^2 / 6x^2 = 4\)
