Area of shaded region = (area of circle) - (area of square)
Since we're told the circle has radius 6, the area of the circle = (pi)(radius²) = (pi)(6²) = 36pi
So we get: area of shaded region = (36pi) - (area of square)
Since the area of the square will not involve pi, we can conclude that the final answer will be in the form (36pi) - some value
So, the correct answer must be B
