When faced with a passage without a topic, focus on what, specifically the passage is about. In this case, the passage is about prisoners, but more specifically, it is about exoffenders and reoffending. The passage does not deal with the topic of gasconade (A) as this refers to sessions or incidents of extravagant boasting, and gasconade has no relevance to the passage. The passage does, however, address the matter of recidivism (B), or in simple terms, reoffending. It does not deal with exfiltration (C), or clandestine rescues, or with chicanery (D), trickery and deception. Attenuation (E) must also be eliminated as the passage is not about weakening or reducing but about recidivism.
