Call the total number of students T. Call x the number of students who take one and only one of the hackatons. Since the number of students who did not participate in both hackatons is 0, we have T=x+9.
x/(x+9)=0.75. Solving for x: x=27. The answer is A.

All students in computer science club went to atleast one of the 2 hackathons --> deduction neither/none is zero.
Let x be the total students in club.
75 percent of students went to only one of the hackathons means --> only H1 +only H2 is 0.75x
So Union/Atleast1 = 0.75x+9
Total students = Atleast1 + neither
Deduction Atleast1 is x
Hence x is 36.Therefore 0.75x is 27, now qty A the number of students who attended only one hackathon ony H1 or Only H2 two cases we can have 9 only H1 or 18 only H2 hence D.
