.......R..G
Bag A: 7: 2 (total 7+2 = 9)
Bag B: 8: 1 (total 8+1 = 9)
Also, B= 2A

Green in A = 2/9
Green in B = 1/9. But B has 2 times as marbles in A, thus 2(1/9) = 2/9.
A = B
Thus, C is the answer.

2(7x+2x)=8y+y
14x+4x=9y
18x=9y
x=1
y=2

Green in A = 2x=2
Green in B = 1y=2

Answer is C

Re: In Bag A, the ratio [#permalink]
suppose, A has 90 polishes, 70 red and 20 green; B has 180 polishes, 160 red, 30 green. How is the number of polishes equal then??

Here I just noticed that the total number of units in each bag is 9:
- 7 + 2 (A)
- 8 + 1 (B)

B has 2x marbles --> 9 x 2 = 18

Fraction of green marbles in A = 2/7 --> Considering 9 marbles total the number is 2 green marbles

Fraction of green marbles in B = 1/8 --> but B is double A, so 18 --> 2
