Draw the figure and notice a Right angle triangle with Perpendicular as 12 miles (9 + 3) and base as 5 miles (10 - 5).
Apply Pythagoras Th. to fond the distance as 13 miles (\(\sqrt{12^2 + 5^2}\))
Hence, option C
