I do not believe you will see this question on the real exam. It is more a drill set question to practice.

However, dan Being in the \(75^{th }\) percentile means that 75% of the other students who took the exam scored at or below the value that Dan did. This means that Dan scored better than 75% of students that took the test.

A and B are false and D is virtually impossible or with a little sense

Thanks sir for feedback . If it ask ‘could be true’, D might be an option but total number are not provided so that it’s not 100% true.

The question is could be true but it is usually is used when more than an option is possible.

However, we do know for sure from the stem that he scored in the THIRD quartile. Therefore, the other options are not true.

Also in D you cannot score 100% because it means that you scored above 100% because they are behind and you scored even better than yourself. Make no sense.

That's why on the GRE or any other exam you score in the 99% and not in the 100%

I hope now is more clear to you

We need to assess who score at or BELOW a certain percentile.

D cannot be the answer in my view.

In fact I have edited choice D as it is in the original question

I hope now is clear
