On a square map one inch is equal to 4/3 miles. If the map covers 64 square miles, then what is the perimeter of the map in inches?
(A) 6 inches
(B) 8 inches
(C) 16 inches
(D) 24 inches
(E) 32 inches
Kudos for correct solution.
Here it is about the SQUARE map.
So each side of the sq map =
√64(in square, Area = side^2)
= 8 miles
Since
1inch=43 miles,
Therefore
8miles=34∗8=6inchTherefore perimeter of square map in inch = 4*side = 4*6 =24 inch
