The author writes that Taylor and Cunningham rejected Graham's "intense manner of teaching and technique." This is best reflected in (D). (A), (B), and (E) are out of scope; the author doesn't provide any evidence to suggest that Taylor and Cunningham didn't understand Graham's style, excel in her dance company, or consider her choreography innovative. (C) is a distortion. While Taylor and Cunningham did not adopt Graham's intense teaching style, the passage does not offer an assessment of whether or not it was "powerful." Taylor and Cunningham could have rejected the style for a number of other reasons.
