Tricky question. I had some thoughts about bonding the infant stage of our life to the novel.
Actually, when we start to read a novel we are strange to it. However, the more we read the more we enter in a sort of parallel universe.
And this slow adaptation resembles or parallels the same process the babies do when they adapt to their environment
