$\(\frac{24}{36}\)$ simplifies by dividing numerator and denominator by 12 :
$$
\(\frac{24}{36}=\frac{24 \div 12}{36 \div 12}=\frac{2}{3}\) .
$$
So $\(a=2\)$ and $\(b=3\)$, hence $\(a+b=5\)$.
Quantity $A=5$, Quantity $B=6$, so Quantity $B$ is greater.
$$
\(\frac{24}{36}=\frac{24 \div 12}{36 \div 12}=\frac{2}{3}\) .
$$
So $\(a=2\)$ and $\(b=3\)$, hence $\(a+b=5\)$.
Quantity $A=5$, Quantity $B=6$, so Quantity $B$ is greater.
