when m is between 6 and 12, we calculate A and B are in which period.
for A:
6 <= m <= 12
-12 <= -m <= -6 (- added)
9-12 <= 9-m <= 9-6 (9 added)
so 9-m = A is between -3 and 3

for B:
6 <= m <= 12
6-9 <= m-9 <= 12-9
Just the same, m-9 is between -3 and +3
although their period are the same but their value for different values of m are not equal.
so D is correct.
