Re: The average (arithmetic mean) of the 11 numbers in a list is [#permalink]

Theory

    ➡ Average = Sum of all the Values / Total Number of Values
    ➡ Sum of all the Values = Average * Total Number of Values

The average (arithmetic mean) of the 11 numbers in a list is 14

Sum of 11 numbers = Average * 11 = 14*11 = 154

The average of 9 of the numbers in the list is 9

Sum of 9 numbers = Average * 9 = 9 * 9 = 81

The average of the other 2 numbers

Average = Sum/2 = (Sum of 11 numbers - Sum of 9 numbers) / 2 = \(\frac{154 - 81}{2}\) = \(\frac{73}{2}\) = 36.5

So, Answer will be 36.5.
Hope it helps!
