Rather than trying to write out the whole statement as math, note that “the number that is 50% greater than 60” can be calculated: 1.5(60) = 90. Similarly, “the number that is 20% less than 150” is 0.8(150) = 120. The question can be rephrased as “90 is what percent less than 120?” Use the percent change formula. Since the question specifies a “percent less,” the “original” number is 120:
Percent Change=\((\frac{Difference}{original} \times 100)\)
Percent Change=\((\frac{30}{120} \times 100)=25\%\)

Workings :
50% grater than 60
= 150% of 60
= (150/100)* 60
= 90
20% less than 150
80% of 150
= (80/100)*100
= 120
Difference = 120 - 90 = 30
Required % :
(30/120)*100
= 25%
The best answer is E.
