Total number of students = 32

required probability = 9/32

12 + 20 = 32, so there are 32 children in total.

There are 12 girls, and 1/4 of them own a cell phone.
1/4 of 12 = 3, so 3 girls own cell phones, which means the other 9 girls do NOT own cell phones

So, P(selected child is girl with WITHOUT a cell phone) = 9/32

Answer: B
