all the number are negative and we just know that order of how negative they are.

Can we say anything about a - d? We know that that a - d > a. But can we say anything about its relationship to 0? It must be LESS than 0 because a is further away from 0 than d is so even though a - d gets us closer 0 it's definitely still negative.

b*c? definitely positive.

so a-d < 0 < b*c

B.

\(a < b < c < d < 0\)

Quantity A
Quantity B
\(a - d\)
\(bc\)

A)The quantity in Column A is greater.
B)The quantity in Column B is greater.
C)The two quantities are equal.
D)The relationship cannot be determined from the information given.

If \(a < b < c < d < 0\), we can also conclude that \(a < d\)
Take \(a < d\) and subtract \(d\) from both sides to get: \(a - d < 0\)
In other words, \(a - d\) is NEGATIVE.

Also, the given inequality, \(a < b < c < d < 0\), tells us that \(b\) and \(c\) are both negative.
So, the product \(bc=\)(negative)(negative)= POSITIVE

We get:
QUANTITY A: NEGATIVE
QUANTITY B: POSITIVE

Answer: B
