x is even, is a prime number, and x + y = 11. [#permalink]
If \(\sqrt{x}\) is a prime, and \(x\) is even, the only possible value for \(x\) is \(4\). Since the rest of the primes are all odds and \(\sqrt{x} \times \sqrt{x} = x\) will be odd, but we are told that \(x\) is even.

Therefore,

\(x+y=11\)

\(4+y=11\)

\(y=11-4\)

\(y=7\)

Quantity A: \(4\)
Quantity B: \(7\)

Quantity B is greater.
