After answering one-third, 15 new calls were placed on hold and total number of calls = 35 , i.e.
after answering one- third calls there should be = 20 calls left unanswered,
Therefore it can be written as \((z - \frac{z}{3}) = 20\)
or \(z = 30\)
Check:
one - third of 30 = 10, i.e there are 20 calls left unanswered and 15 calls are added to bring the total of = 35 calls left un-answered

We can convert the word problem into an equation. (2/3)z+15=35, 2/3 because if 1/3 of the calls on hold were answered then 2/3 were left. Solving for z we get that z=30 which is clearly less than 33. B is the answer.
