The answer had a typo the correct value is indeed 84.

Bob has an exercise schedule beginning 1st April as follows

1st day - 2 hrs total=2 hrs
2nd day - 4 hrs total=6 hrs
3rd day - 6 hrs total=12 hrs
4th day - 8 hrs total=20 hrs
5th day - 10 hrs total=30 hrs
6th day - 12 hrs total=42 hrs
7th day - 14 hrs total=56 hrs
From here on Bob exercises for 14 hrs each day
8th day - 14 hrs total= 70 hrs
9th day - 14 hrs total= 84 hrs

Bob the bodybuilder is training for a competition to be held on 10th of April. On the 1st April he trains for 2 hours and on 2nd April he trains for 4 hours and on 3rd April he trains for 6 hours. He keeps on increasing his training time till he reaches 14 hours per day and then keeps it constant at 14 hours a day. How many hours did he train between 1st April and 10th April, exclusive?

84

So we start from 4..
4+6+8..+14+14+...+15
So there are 8 days ..
2(2+3+4+5+6+7+7+7)=41*2=82
Although if both are exclusive, it says both exclusive..

But if exclusive is ONLY for 10th day then add 2 of the first day so 2+82=84 day..
May be the question requires to a bit more clear in wordings..
