We know that two angles on the same line must add to 180 degrees.
So, we can write: (2t + 12) + (t² - 2t + 24) = 180
Simplify: t² + 36 = 180
Keep going: t² = 144
So, EITHER t = 12 OR t = -12
HOWEVER, if t = -12, then the angle on the left = 2(-12) + 12 = -12
Since we can't have negative angles on the GRE, we know that t cannot equal -12
This mean it MUST be the case that t = 12
We get:
Quantity A: 12
Quantity B: 12
Answer: C
