The first question is a little bit odd.

Actually, it is asking to weaken the assertion the Chopin playing ability piano

Even if Chopin never played other composer’s works, it isn’t necessarily because those works were too difficult.

A is not correct

seems i didn't express myself properly :)
so the question asks to undermine the author’s contention that he was the equally good both in performing and in composing.
Choice A gives information only about the repertoire that he presumably played which is taxing but more taxing are still possible. As a result, we can neither undermine nor reinforce the assertion about equity of his skills in questions. In other words, A is out of scope
right?
