We can solve this question using matching operations

Given:
Quantity A: x + x/2
Quantity B: x - x/2

Subtract x from both quantities to get:
Quantity A: x/2
Quantity B: -x/2

Add x/2 to both quantities to get:
Quantity A: x/2 + x/2
Quantity B: 0

Simplify:
Quantity A: x
Quantity B: 0

Since we're told that x > 0, the correct answer is A
