Two important rules:

ODD exponents preserve the sign of the base.
So, (NEGATIVE)^(ODD integer) = NEGATIVE
and (POSITIVE)^(ODD integer) = POSITIVE

An EVEN exponent always yields a positive result (unless the base = 0)
So, (NEGATIVE)^(EVEN integer) = POSITIVE
and (POSITIVE)^(EVEN integer) = POSITIVE

Since 4n and 202 are both EVEN, we know that \((–1)^{4n}\) is POSITIVE, and \((–1)^{202}\) is POSITIVE

Since 3 and 5 are both ODD, we know that \((3)^{3}\) is POSITIVE, and \((-5)^{5}\) is NEGATIVE

Quantity B: (POSITIVE)(NEGATIVE)

Simplify to get:
Quantity A: some POSITIVE number
Quantity B: some NEGATIVE number
