The shaded region is the area of the outermost circle excluding the area of the two inner circles which the area of the outer circle comprises as well.
area of shaded region = \(pi (5)^2 - pi (4)^2\)
which is \(25pi - 16 pi = 9 pi\)
The area of the stripped region is the area of the small circle which is
\(pi *(3)^2\)
