We can solve this question using matching operations
Given:
Quantity A: y/(y + 17)
Quantity B: y/(y + 11)
Since y is POSITIVE, we can safely divide both quantities by y to get:
Quantity A: 1/(y + 17)
Quantity B: 1/(y + 11)
Since y is POSITIVE, we know that (y + 17) is POSITIVE, so we can safely multiply both quantities by (y + 17) to get:
Quantity A: 1
Quantity B: (y + 17)/(y + 11)
Likewise, we can safely multiply both quantities by (y + 11) to get:
Quantity A: y + 11
Quantity B: y + 17
Subtract y from both quantities to get:
Quantity A: 11
Quantity B: 17
Answer: B

The other way would be.
The numerator of both A and B is the same, that is y. But the denominator of A will be greater than that of B, as we are adding 17 to y as compared to 11 in A.
thus, A will be lesser than B.
