Area of circle = πr², where r = radius
GIVEN: The area of the circle whose center is O is 16π
We can write: πr² = 16π
Divide both sides by π to get: r² = 16
Solve: r = 4
Add this information to the diagram...
What is the area of triangle MNO?
Area of triangle = (base)(height)/2
= (4)(4)/2
= 16/2
= 8
Answer: 8
