Three workers A, B, and C are hired for 4 days. The daily wages of the three workers are as follows:
A's first day wage is $4. Each day, his wage increases by 2 dollars.
B's first day wage is $3. Each day, his wage increases by 2 dollars.
C's first day wage is $1. Each day, his wage increases by the prime numbers 2, 3, and 5 in that order.
Which one of the following is true about the wages earned by A, B, and C in the first 4 days?

It's pretty easy to calculate all three wages here. For example, A = 4 + 6 + 8 + 10 = 28. But there's a better number sense strategy here.
First, A starts $1 ahead of B, and they increase at the same rate. So every day A will make one extra dollar. At the end of 4 days, A will be $4 ahead of B.
What about C? I want to think about each day. On day one, C makes $3 less than A. On day two they both increase by $2, so C will still earn $3 less. In total, then, C has earned $6 less.
On day three, C makes up a dollar. But C will still make $2 less than A on this day, for a total of $8 behind. On day four, C makes up $3, now making $1 more than A. Well, that means C will still end up $7 behind A.
So A makes the most, followed by B and then C.
