The first time I got 158V and 159Q. I retook the test after 3-4 weeks though I did not have time to study much and got 154V 159Q.

I think the quantitative section was much much harder than the PowerPrep practice tests of ETS.

This is damn true. Quantitative part was too hard in comparison with previous exams.

Hi camilledahdah,

Did you end up retaking the GRE? If so, how did things go?

Hi ScottTargetTestPrep,

I retook the test after 4 weeks and got 165Q and 153V. I left my full-time job and changed the way I was studying for the exam. First, I did Manhattan's 6 online practice tests twice (Math sections only, since the verbal part is known to be inaccurate). I believe that these practice tests helped me the most for getting 165Q; they are somehow equivalent to the real test in terms of accuracy and time management. Then, I did few Math exercises form Manhattan 5lb Practice Problems, though I wish I had studied more. I believe my verbal score dropped from 158V to 153V because the first time I took the test I memorized around 500 words, but later on I started to forget them (since I barley reviewed them).

Overall, I advise you to practice accurate Math practice tests as much as possible (which you have to pay for).
