GIVEN: x : y : z = 1 : 2 : 3.
This tells us that y is TWICE the value of x
In other words, y = 2x
The above ratio also tells us that z is THREE TIMES the value of x
In other words, z = 3x
ALSO GIVEN: x = a, y = 2b, z = 3c
Take y = 2b, and replace y with 2x to get: 2x = 2b
This means x = b
Take z = 3c, and replace z with 3x to get: 3x = 3c
This means x = c
So, we know that x = a = b = c
We can do a BUNCH of substitutions to get:
QUANTITY A: \(\frac{x+y+z}{a+b+c}=\frac{x+2x+3x}{x+x+x}=\frac{6x}{3x}=2\)
QUANTITY B: 2
Answer: C
