Admissionado Quick Q & A: Quick Program Advice

Quick Question: Need advice about school selection. Can I apply for US Master of accounting with an undergrad at a general Chinese university (GPA by WES 2.89), and work experience in banking but not accounting? I haven’t taken GMAT and TOEFL yet, IETLS 6.5. Any recommendations?
Quick Answer: A lot is going to depend on your GMAT score. That GPA is quite low but if you can score high on the GMAT (720+) the adcom will likely be willing to overlook it, especially if you can also ensure some strong letters of recommendation that will vouch for your abilities and potential. It will also be critical to tell a strong story about why you want to move into accounting if you don’t have any work experience in it.
