Let's examine 2 possible cases.
case i
Since a square is a type of parallelogram, the diagram COULD look like this

In this case, x and y are equal.
So, Quantity A equals Quantity B
case ii
Alternatively, the parallelogram COULD look like this

So, Quantity A is greater than Quantity B

Since the two triangles are congruent (SSS criteria), won't x=y ?
