Given:
xy is POSITIVE
yz is NEGATIVE
Divide them to get: xy/yz = POSITIVE/NEGATIVE
Simplify the left side to get: x/z = POSITIVE/NEGATIVE
Simplify the right side to get: x/z = NEGATIVE
If x/z is NEGATIVE, then one value (x or z) is POSITIVE, and the other value is NEGATIVE.
If one value (x or z) is POSITIVE, and the other value is NEGATIVE, then xz = (POSITIVE)(NEGATIVE) = NEGATIVE
We get:
QUANTITY A: NEGATIVE
QUANTITY B: 0
Answer: B

Given, xy>0 and yz<0
So, x and y must have same sign (either +ve or -ve together) for the product of x and y to be positive.
z, however, must have opposite sign to x and y, so that product of y and z becomes -ve
Therefore the term xz will always be -ve as x and z have opposite polarity.
Hence, B > A
