People often recall having felt chilled before the onset of [#permalink]

This is a causal argument

Chill -> Rhinovirus Infection -> Cold

to weaken this argument, we have to come up with an alternative cause for the Cold or a Reversal of the chain of events.

Choice B reverses the chain of causes

Rhinovirus Infection -> Chill

thus this will most seriously weaken the force of evidence.

(A) Being chilled is a form of stress, and stress lowers the defenses of a person's immune system, which guards against infection.

Confirms the above chain of causes given in the argument and thus strengthens instead of weakening. Eliminate.

(B) After a rhinovirus has incubated in a person for several days, the first symptom it causes is a feeling of chilliness.

Choice B reverses the chain of causes

Rhinovirus Infection -> Chill

Correct. (or Hold it)

(C) People who are tired and then become chilled are more likely to catch severe colds than are people who are chilled without being tired.

Tiredness is not factor mentioned in the original argument, and hence irrelevant. Eliminate.

(D) Some people who catch colds are not sure what it was that allowed them to catch cold.

It does not matter what people think is the cause of the cold. We are interested in reality. Eliminate.

(E) Rhinoviruses are not always present in the environment, and so a person could become chilled without catching a cold.

Since he has not caught a cold, it is irrelevant to this argument. Eliminate.
