Let's test some values.
case i: It COULD be the case that a = 0 and b = 1
We get:
Quantity A: (a+b)2=(0+1)2=1
Quantity B: (a+b)3=(0+1)3=1
In this case, Quantity A equals Quantity B
case ii: It COULD be the case that a = 0 and b = 2
We get:
Quantity A: (a+b)2=(0+2)2=4
Quantity B: (a+b)3=(0+2)3=8
In this case, Quantity B is greater
Answer: D
