Locus of R is a circle, whose center is P and whose radius is 20 inches.

Distance of R from P is 20 inches

R is closer to P if R lies anywhere on the highlighted(Red) portion of the circle

Probability= 240/360=2/3

Hi Carcass

Would you please explain further as there is no diagram where anything is highlighted and I am not able to understand how you got 240

The center angle of a circle is 360° and an angle of an equilateral triangle is 60°

So, 360° - 60° - 60° = 240°
