OFFICIAL EXPLANATION:
Parallel lines have the same slope. Since the product of the two slopes is positive, either both slopes are positive or both slopes are negative. Here are two examples in which line j has a larger x-intercept, as specified by the problem:

If the slopes are positive, k will have the greater y-intercept, but if the slopes are negative, l will have the greater y-intercept.
