We must have a biological predisposition to not interpret time as simply as an amorphous succession of moments. Amorphous - take any form or shape. This means the blank should be opposite of amorphous which is discrete.

The author talks about "the conception of time as parcelled out..." the word parcelled indicates that the intervals are distinct. Plus the author continues by stating that we have a biological predisposition to not conceive time as "amorphous succession of moments".
