Brian spent 1/4 + 3/4 ( 1/3 +1/3) = 1/4 + 1/2 = 3/4 of his income --> he has 1/4 of his income = 231$ left --> 231= 1/4 * income = 924 = Income

Solution:
Paying attention to the second part of the question, if Brian spent \(\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3 }\)of his income he is left with \(\frac{1}{3}\). And this \(\frac{1}{3}\)=231
Therefore, Brian was left with 231*3=693 $ after paying for paycheck to repair his car.
This 693=\(\frac{3}{4}\) or 75% of the total value.
Thus, 100% will be 924$
