ISSUE:- Scandals are useful because they focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could.
It is ironic and true that scandals are unwanted members of the society and yet they are required to focus our attention on the most huge and unimaginable problems. Scandals are indeed useful in terms of alerting the society about the grave problems they can get themselves into, unkowingly, of course. Shedding light on the illegal activities would make the public more chary and cautious while dealing with and putting their trust on poeple.
Scandals are also prove helpful in terms of paving a path that leads to the other people involved in heinous crimes, hence leading us to the root of the problem. They mainly include politicians and celebrities (who are also involved in the dirty political sphere) who play with the trust and inncoence of the people. This is a means of sucking out the venom and gradually purifying the political domain, transalting to cleaner politics and genine leaders who aim for the betterment of the society.
Let us walk throught the example of IMA Jewellers. This was probably among the most biggest scandals in the year 2019. The founder masked his criminal identity with generosity towards the needy, getting government schools back to shape, fallacious promises to the poor, maintaining ingenuine relationships with customers, etc. He managed to gain the trust of his customers, especially the poor, and when he felt the time was right, he fled with an exhorbitant crores of rupees. This illegal act left the poor devastated, their hearts shattered and their right to dream was also snatched away from them. Awareness must be spread among the poor and illeterate about better means of keeping their money safe, like mutual fund, ingenious gold investment banks, etc.
Another example is that of Uber. Due to the uncontrollable number of sexual harassements and assaults against women by the Uber drivers, the CEO, Travis Kalanick, had decided to conceal the actual locations of the passengers using a device called "Greyball', instead of firing the filthy and hiring more decent drivers. This huge scandal replaced Travis withthe new CEO, Dara Khosoroshahi.
With enough insight provided by the above two examples, it can be concluded that scandals do play an integral role in keeping the public safe from the hands of the criminal minds and also result in healthier politics.
