Sorry folks

there was a typo on the first quantity due to the latex code that did not show up

The first quantity is raised to minus one

The first quantity is \(\frac{4}{9}\) but raised to minus one becomes \(\frac{9}{4}\)

Which clearly is > 1

A is the answer

3^-1 = 1/3
3^-2 = 1/3^2 = 1/9

1/3 + 1/9 = 3/9 + 1/9 = (4/9)^-1 = 9/4 > 1 So answer choice choice A
