While they may not be publishing in equal numbers to their male peers, African women writers are occupying a more central role in the publishing landscape than previously. I do not mean to suggest that gender gaps have been (i) _______; they persist. Nor do I mean to suggest that all women have equal access to publishing; certainly class and education differences among women (ii) _______ affect the ability to write and publish. Even so, the trend is (iii) _______: more women writers are publishing, and their work is reaching new audiences at home and abroad.

Could someone help with blank (ii) ? How to distinguish between adversely and deeply ?
Approach for blank(i) and blank(iii):
Entire sentence talks about gender equality in publishing. 1st sentence introduces a positive trend compared to earlier "publishing landscape" with Africa women writers playing a more central role. Also there is a hint in the part after ":" - "they persist". So a guess for blank(i) - eradicated, removed
Blank (iii) clearly indicates something positive so "upward"

Adversely would be little extreme in this case. I would imagine if it was not meant to suggest that all women have equal access to publishing, then definitely the factors mentioned above did play at least some role. The nature of this role could be either good or bad, but the main contrast is between equal and disproportionate; or moderate and high.
