Incomes for each individual year 1966: x dollars 1967: x dollars 1968: y dollars 1969: y dollars 1970: y dollars
Average annual income for the five years = (sum of all incomes)/5 = (x + x + y + y + y)/5 = (2x + 3y)/5 Check the answers......(2x + 3y)/5 can't be found. This means that either our calculations are incorrect or we need to rewrite the expression a different way.
