Here we know that for cookies we need 3 eggs and 0.5 cups of butter.
The ratio of eggs to butter = \(\frac{3}{0.5}\).
Now she has 2 eggs and let the cups of butter required be x.
For ratio of eggs to butter to be same we know that.
\(\frac{3}{0.5}\)=\(\frac{2}{x}\).
Hence \(x=\frac{1}{3}\).
The ratio of eggs to butter = \(\frac{3}{0.5}\).
Now she has 2 eggs and let the cups of butter required be x.
For ratio of eggs to butter to be same we know that.
\(\frac{3}{0.5}\)=\(\frac{2}{x}\).
Hence \(x=\frac{1}{3}\).

We can solve the question by using equivalent ratios
We're comparing eggs to butter (and flour and sugar, but that information isn't needed)
We require 3 eggs for every 0.5 cups of butter.
We have 2 eggs and we need to determine the amount of butter
Let x = the number of cups of butter needed with 2 eggs
We get: 3/0.5 = 2/x
Cross multiply to get: (3)(x) = (0.5)(2)
Simplify: 3x = 1
Solve: x = 1/3
Answer: 1/3
