I still do not understand why eloquent which means fluency in speaking is the right answer.
The defendant is 'stirring words' to make the truth seem as if it is not. so isnt he cunningly playing his words to get his guilty client to win. so shouldnt the answer be deceptive or crafty. but again deceptive and craft are almost synonyms as well so that is another problem.
