At-Home GRE Experience

Took the at home GRE Friday. Test was far harder than all practice tests. Quant was strange and the experimental wasn't distinguishable from the real quant sections.
I ended up with a 164q, 163v (I got a 170 on PPP3 and never less than 164 on all other practice tests.) I'm not used to scoring this low on verbal, so that was a shock to me. I'm going to retake.
As for people saying it looks easy to cheat... remember you're being recorded!!!! I'm sure they'll pass back through and review all the footage LOL. And microphone means... they can hear you. Not gonna be an easy one to cheat on thank god.

I only studied GMAT quant. Read a lot about math. I also looked over a lot of 5lb problems. Not sure how much all of this helped me other than teaching me the basics. Things the GRE threw at me were HARD and with the time constraint I couldn't remember things I studied. This test is a beast... More like an IQ test than anything else.

Also interested to hear more on how you prepared to get such a score. I got Q162 and Q164 on mocks to then get 158 on the actual test... Some of the questions I saw I had zero clue how to approach and nothing like I saw on any of the study materials or any of the mocks (I have done magoosh, ETS, kaptest). In general this is a much harder test than GMAT...more concepts, less time, very odd IQ like questions.
