Does anyone believe that this is not a good GRE question?
I find it very misleading

The question isn't meant to be representative of the GRE.
After all, it features Fermat's Last Theorem (which took mathematicians 357 years to solve)
The question is merely meant to illustrate the importance of eliminating answer choices when you work through a Roman Numerals question.

@GreenlightTestPrep - Thanks for writing this question; it definitely isn't representative of the GRE, but I've been having a lot of trouble being "OK" with eliminating things and swiftly/deftly moving through problems. I've generally been too determined to understand every single problem at every single angle -- this has caused me a lot of emotional angst and trouble with moving on until I understand EVERYTHING. This is a really good example of the benefits of carefully and quickly looking for the right shortcuts come test day, which is what the GRE is actually about.

That's a very important observation, @Mudslide53.
The GRE is considerably different from the hundreds (or even thousands) of tests students have taken in their 16+ years of school.
When it comes to the GRE, the best approach to any math question is always the approach that identified the correct answer in the fastest way. In some cases, the fastest way involves testing out the choices, or estimation, or number sense, or a variety of other strategies that students never learned in their many math classes.
