Here,
(1)
Male wages in service occupations = $300
Female wages in service occupations = $200
Percentage = \(\frac{200}{300 }* 100\)% = 67%

The highest ration of female to male is Technical , sales and support
No. of Av. men wages = $ 500
No. of men = 8000
Total Av. wages for men =500 * 8000 = $40,000
Similarly,
No. of Av. female wages = $ 300
No. of female = 16,000
Total Av. wages for female = 300 * 16000 =$48,000
Since, Av wages of female = 48,000/16,000 = $300
but, we need the av. wages of female to be = $500
hence, the total av. wage of female should be increased to = $80,000 ( \(\frac{80000}{16000} = 500\))
SO the female wages has to increase by 50% to that of male wages

Total no. of men in state X as operators, fabricators, and laborers = 11,000
Av. wages = $350
Total wages earned = 11,000 * 350 = 3,850,000

For Q2, since average wages are already given and the question asks us approximately what % would the average weekly female wage have to increase to equal the average weekly male wage, why can't we simply do 300(100+?/100)=500?? Or am I missing something here?
