There are x dimes, and 8 more nickels than dimes (number of nickels can be expressed as x+8)
Total # coins = #quarters + #nickels + #dimes
57 = #quarters + (x+8) + x
#quarters = 57 - (x+8) -x = 49-2x (Answer D)
Total # coins = #quarters + #nickels + #dimes
57 = #quarters + (x+8) + x
#quarters = 57 - (x+8) -x = 49-2x (Answer D)
